"Intro to the NT: Romans to Revelation"
taught by Dr. Chris Gardner Mondays 6 pm to 7:30 pm
As believers in Jesus Christ, we need to be students of God's Word. In order to improve your ability to rightly divide the Word of God, a good student of the Word needs to understand the basic purpose of each New Testament book. This course will focus on gaining a grasp of the purpose of each of the epistles and the book of Revelation.

PURPOSE:     This course is designed as an overview of the Epistles and Revelation with the goal that each student understands the placement of these books in the Biblical Canon, through the discovery of their individuality, while appreciating their unity with the whole of Scripture.

 

OBJECTIVES:          

  • to gain an overview of the Epistles  and Revelation;

  • to understand the harmony of these books with each other and the rest of Scripture;

  • to appreciate the unique purpose and design of each of these books

  • to know the books of the New Testament in order with correct spelling.     ​

"How to Study the Bible: Level 1 Observation"
taught by Dr. Chris Gardner Mondays 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
All serious Christians want to study the Word of God, but discerning what the biblical text is all about is not easy. This course will provide guidance in the first of three steps of solid Bible Study: observation. Before you can apply the Scripture to your life or teach the Bible, you need to learn to seriously observe the biblical text.

Tremper Longman III, Reading the Bible with Heart & Mind, NavPress, 1997 (Certificate)

 

PURPOSE:     This course is designed to develop and increase the student’s observation skills, particularly in the study of the Bible.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:      At the end of this course each student will be able

  • To detail the distinct qualities of studying the Bible as compared to any other book;

  • To understand how to develop a methodical approach to Bible study;

To learn the value and techniques of detailed observation in the study of the Bible.
