Exploring the Theology and Ministry of Prayer. We'll look at the Priority, Power, Positions, and Practice of Prayer. Our study will include several Psalms, Biblical examples, and the teaching and practice of Paul and Jesus. Our textbooks will include: The Bible, Pray Big by Allstair Begg, and portions of the Complete Works by EM Bounds on Prayer. Assignments include paraphrasing some Psalms, writing out examples of personal prayers, reading published prayers, meeting with others to pray, and other readings. Course Objectives: - Replace the guilt that often characterizes our prayer life with a renewed love for God and a realization of our partnership with HIm - Rest in a biblical knowledge of God that will keep me in awe of Him - Develop personal life patterns that will help me to pray without ceasing - Enjoy confident, confessional, comforting, consistent communion with God - Become proactive in praying with others and teaching others to pray
