The Ministry of Prayer

Course Description: Exploring the Ministry of Prayer. We’ll look at the Priority, Power, Positions and Practice of Prayer. Our study will include several Psalms and Biblical examples, as well as the teaching and practice of Paul and Jesus. Our textbooks will include The Bible and portions of the Complete Works by EM Bounds on Prayer. Assignments may include: paraphrasing some Psalms; writing out examples of personal prayers; reading some older published prayers; meeting with others to pray; and other reading assignments. Course Objectives: Understand the Priority and Privilege of praying Deepen your knowledge of and confidence in God Become a more effective intercessor Be at ease praying with others and in public Develop the ability to teach others to pray Instructor Bio: Pastor V was born and raised in the Laceyville, PA area where he attended and later joined the Braintrim Baptist Church. In that church he was ordained in 1982. He and Kathy were married in 1981 and God has gifted them with four lovely daughters who have blessed them with 5 grandsons. This Institute, in part, fulfills a “retirement” calling which is based on Psalm 71.18 “Even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, and Your strength to all who are to come.”
